Hallmark
Three marks. No guesswork.
Every gold piece we sell is hallmarked by a BIS-recognised centre. Here's how to read the marks, and how to check them yourself in two minutes.
- 1
BIS mark
The triangle logo of the Bureau of Indian Standards. It means the piece was tested at a BIS-recognised hallmarking centre.
- 2
Purity grade
Karat and fineness together, like 22K916: 22 karat, 916 parts gold per 1,000. This is what you're paying for.
- 3
HUID
A six-character Hallmark Unique ID (letters and numbers), different for every piece. It links the piece to its test record.
Verify any HUID
- 1
Install the free BIS CARE app from the Google Play Store or search “BIS CARE” in the App Store.
- 2
Open it and tap Verify HUID.
- 3
Type the six characters engraved on your piece (also printed on our bill and shown on every product page).
- 4
Check the result: purity, the jeweller's registration and the hallmarking centre should match.
Purity table
| Karat | Fineness | Gold content | Used for |
|---|---|---|---|

| 18K | 750 | 75.0% | Diamond and studded jewellery |
| 14K | 585 | 58.5% | Light, everyday pieces |

Questions
Is hallmarking compulsory?
Yes, for gold jewellery and artefacts sold by jewellers in most districts of India, including Bhopal. Every hallmarked piece now carries a six-digit HUID.
My old jewellery has a different hallmark. Is it fake?
Not necessarily. Before the HUID system, hallmarks also carried the hallmarking centre's mark, the jeweller's mark and a year letter. Those pieces are still valid; we can test them for you.
Does silver have a HUID?
Silver hallmarking works differently and isn't compulsory in the same way. We test our silver for purity and print it on your bill.
What if the HUID doesn't show up in the app?
Check that you've typed it exactly (letters and numbers, no spaces). If it still doesn't match, message us on WhatsApp with a photo and we'll look into it straight away.
